Green Laserpointer Attack Hazards

Powerfull and inexpensive green laser pointers with 532nm wavelength are easily available through the internet. This results in an increasing misuse and therefore causing more and more danger for public and private safety.

As reported in several newspapers, especially air transportation is targetted. First of all the pilots and therefore also passengers of civil airplanes during approach are putted on a high risk. Even a short and or grazing hit of the laser beam into the eye can result in blindness lasting several minutes or, even worse, for ever. These attacks are rightly prosecuted by the authoroties and the police.

Also attacks on the police itself or on rescue teams during demonstrations have been reported. Bus or subway engine drivers in public transportation have also been tagetted already.

532nm Glare flip

In road traffic the permanently wearing of laser safety eyewear is impossible and not allowed. Therefore LASERVISION has designed a glare flip against UV, Blue and Green laser radiation which can be easily fixed on standard prescription glasses. For all these who doesn't wear glasses a frame with neutral (or without) glasses can be used instead. If scattered green laser light from the wind shield is recognised, the flip can be easily and fast folded down and will protect safely against the danger of a direct hit into the eye.

The orange plastic filter absorbs laser radiation absolutely reliable in the wavelength range between 315nm to 532nm (UV...green) and within the typical power range of laser pointers. The remaining transmission is as low as 0,0001%.

Highlights

  • universal use with different frame styles
  • Protection against UV, blue and green laser radiation
  • Transmission T< 0,0001%
