Camera system for measurement of beam diameter

SPOT-CHECK CMOS-camera system

In addition to wavelength, operation mode and laser power or energy the beam diameter resp. the spot size is one of the most important values for laser safety level calculations.

In combination with an optimised software the 1.4 Mpixel Spot-Check 2/3" CCD camera allows an easy and simple measurement of the beam diameter or the spot size at 1/e of the peak intensity as required by the laser safety standard for calculation of laser protection levels (L-rating). The software displays automatically the major and minor diameter and the intensity profiles of each axis. The alignment of this crosshair is automatically which allows also the measurement of elliptical intensity distributions. An integrated trigger allows the measurement of the beam diameter of pulsed beams as well. Triggering is done optically (in dependence of the intensity) or with an external trigger cable.

Entering the optical power or energy of the incident laser beam calculates and displays automatically the peak power (-energy) and the power or energy density.

The complete system consists of camera, NG4 optical filter, connecting cable software and short description. As an option the system can be ordereed readdy installed on a netbook computer.
