Description

The European Standard EN 207 defines how to do a protection level calculation - for continious wave (cw) lasers the power density (power per beam area in m²) and for pulsed lasers the energy density (pulse energy per beam area in m²) needs to be calculated. With this calculated value the table in the norm gives the required protection level. According to this value and the laser operation mode suitable eyewear can be selected. Detailed guidelines and regulations how to select the right eyewear can be found in the European Standards EN207 and EN208 respectively.

LASERVISION has developed a software for the calculation of protection levels for single lasers or combination of different lasers. By means of a user friendly guidance laser data according to the operation mode are entered into the software and the programm calculates the protection levels and suggests a suitable öaser protectio goggle or a protection window. The programm differentiates between full and alignment protection.
