Additional to the modular laser safety courses laservision also offers several further services including appraisal and repair services for laser safety glasses from laservision but also measurement-technical services in order to properly assess potential hazards of incoherent light sources in the workplaces according to the OStrV.

Repair service of laser safety products

There is no simple answer to the frequently asked question if glasses are still safe or not. Life time depends not only on the age of the glasses, but also on factors such as treatment, care and environment. Therefore laservision recommends regular safety inspections.
The time between two inspections can vary according to reasons mentioned above. A pair of glasses which are treated with care, cleaned according to instructions and used in a laboratory setting will certainly outlast a pair of glasses that are treated carelessly and perhaps even worn by several different people in a rough production environment. Glasses which show any damage (e.g. a damaged or scratched filter, colour changes in the filter, damaged metal enforcement of the frames) should not be used at all. If you are in doubt, please contact our technical support for a safety inspection of your glasses.

laservision offers a safety check against a small fee. This service is offered for all glasses, windows and filters independent from its original manufacturer.

Risk Assessment According to OSTrV and TROS IOS

Attention: The following description and assessment is only valid for Germany!

The obstacle of radiation protection is to safeguard employees from hazards of dangerous optical radiation. In April 2006 the European Commission for Work Safety has published the guideline 2006/25/EG that outlines the minimal requirements for protection regarding safety & health for hazards from artificial optical radiation. This guideline has been issued as the 19th regulation according to Article 16 Clause 1 of the German Regulation for Safety in the Workplace 89/391/EWG.

Hazard Assessment Services:

After clarification of the technical details related to the measurement task, we verify the safety of your light source. The result of this safety assessment is a detailed report that documents the measured exposure values as well as the maximum exposure values. Additionally, the report includes recognized safety hazards along with suggestions for improvement of the safety level.

The Hazard Analysis includes:
•    Exposure measurement at critical points with recommendations for
•    improvements
•    Assessment of technical, organizational and personal protective measures
•    Verification of the safety area
•    Determination of the maximum daily exposure
•    Detailed safety report
