The new PPE regulation 2016/425

On April 21st of 2018, the validity of current EC-PPE directive RL 89/686 has been expired and the new PPE regulation (VO 2016/425), which entered into force on April 20th in 2016, became positively valid. By the upgrade to a regulation, this rule is mandatory in all parts and directly valid in every EC country.
The new regulation requires the following to be observed and included with the PPE product or made available to the user.
Documentation:
EU Declaration of Conformity in all required national languages (as a supplement to the product or as download via an Internet address specified in the instructions for use)
Instruction manual
- in a minimum legible font size (9Pt) in all EU languages Member states; laservision displays a total of 28 languages)
- with all the important information on the use of PPE:
- including use and care instructions
- Description of the risks that the product should protect against
- as well as indications of restrictions that may arise just by wearing the PPE
- notes on the life and storage period
Labeling requirement:
If technically possible, the product must be marked so that:
1 - Laser protection filters must also be marked with the indication of the daylight transmittance (VLT) in %
2 - the complete address of the responsible distributor or manufacturer
3 - the date of manufacture and / or expiry in the form of a factory symbol indicating the month and year of manufacture (mm / yyyy) is apparent
4 - the CE mark in prescribed size and shape
